Local Utility Transactions and Subroutines

Several locally written utility transactions, subroutines, and other useful facilities are available for use in the CNS CICS environment. Descriptions of these transactions, subroutines, and facilities are contained on this page. Most of the transactions and all of the subroutines were designed for use by application developers. Some transactions are available only in the test regions, while others exist in all regions. In addition to locally written transactions and subroutines, a few significant IBM and vendor supplied transactions are listed here as well.

Transactions

CESN - CICS Sign-on Transaction
- Available in all regions.
- Need not be signed on to use (obviously).
- CSGM and CSSN are aliases of CESN.
CMAC - CICS Messages And Codes display
- Available in all regions.
- Need not be signed on to use.
CSGM - CICS Sign-on Transaction
- Available in all regions.
- Need not be signed on to use (obviously).
- CESN and CSSN are aliases of CSGM.
CSSN - CICS Sign-on Transaction
- Available in all regions.
- Need not be signed on to use (obviously).
- CESN and CSGM are aliases of CSSN.
CNTL - CA-InterTest Monitoring Command Builder
- Available in test regions only.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
- New ITST transaction intended to replace CNTL.
CORE - CA-InterTest Storage Display/Modification
- Available in test regions only.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
CUKY - Echo which aid key was hit (ie: PF key, PA key, CLEAR key, ENTER key).
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
DISC - Sign off and disconnect terminal from CICS.
- Available in all regions.
- Need not be signed on to use.
- LOGO is an alias of DISC.
DYNB - Dynamic Allocation System browse by DDNAME.
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
DYNN - Dynamic Allocation System browse by DSNAME.
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
DYNU - Dynamic Allocation System main transaction.
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
- Provides ability to open/close files and changes allocation times.
LOGO - Logoff of CICS.
- Available in all regions.
- Need not be signed on to use.
- DISC is an alias of LOGO.
FILE - CA-InterTest file utility.
- Available in test regions only.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
G1CP - CODE-1 Plus address matching and database display
- Available in test regions only (due to resource needs of the database functions).
- Must be signed on to use.
- Distributed as part of the CODE-1 Plus product.
HELP - CA-InterTest help and documentation.
- Available in test regions only.
- Must be signed on to use.
ITST - CA-InterTest Primary Option Menu
- Available in test regions only.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
- Intended to replace the old CNTL menu.
NEMT - CNS Enhanced Master Terminal transaction
- Available in test regions only.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
- Provides a subset of CEMT functions.
NESD - Terminal status display
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
NE4F - File status manipulation utility
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Limited to use by application development groups.
- Will work with BLU2 (does not require BMS)
NTPX - Pass terminal to NERTPX
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.
- Terminal is logged off of CICS and passed to TPX sign-on screen.
- Should not be used if access to CICS was originally via TPX.
- Transfer is done using CLSDST PASS function.
NWGP - Address Matching using CODE-1 Plus
- Available in all regions.
- Must be signed on to use.

Subroutines

DCCUDYNL - Dynamic Allocation Subroutine
- Must be signed on to a "controlling" user-id.
- Provides capabilities to open and close files.
- Provides capabilities to enable and disable transaction ids.

Other Useful Facilities

ASUB - Submit JCL to MVS from a CICS transaction

Allows submission of up to 409 lines of JCL or 80-byte records.
Contact CICS systems group for information on its use.
BLU2 - CICS Batch LU2 interface
- Must be running on a "controlling" user-id.
- Can be used to open, close, or control access to CICS files.
- Can be used to do NEWCOPY of a newly compiled CICS program.
- Sample jobstream in CICS.USER.SAMPLIB(BLU2EXEC).
- Contact CICS systems group for information on its use.
NECU - CICS Temporary Storage cleanup routine.
- Runs whenever a terminal logs off of CICS.
- Can submit a user-written transaction to clean up TS queues.
- Contact CICS systems group for information on its use.
